44 year old Don Sutton throws a complete game three-hitter for his 300th victory. He needed only 85 pitches to shut down the Texas Rangers 5-1.

Tom Seaver throws a no-hitter against the St. Louis Cardinals. Seaver strikes out three and walks three in a 4-0 victory. Seaver had previously had three no-hitters broken up in the ninth inning.
